The Art of Being Right (Die Kunst, Recht zu Behalten) is a short treatise of the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. In it, Schopenhauer examines a total of thirty-eight methods of showing up one's opponent in a debate. This could be useful when considering the upcoming school board and mayoral elections in April and May respectively. There is much debate going on now and I am seeing some of these tactics being used already on all sides.
Karl Rove was a big fan of Schopenhauer and used his tactics numerous times to help George Bush get elected in the year 2000. Why did Rove have to be so smart?
Here is the link to Karl Rove's page on one of my newer favorite websites, Dickipedia (a wiki of dicks). This is a non-partisan site that lists both Democrats and Republicans in the political category.
