It is possible that the cost to fix the field could be up to $10 million or more. However, it would be incorrect to assume that it would be all payable in the 2010 fiscal year. The bond payments perhaps would start in 2011 if they were necessary. Time will tell. It would be nice if at some point soon there was an update from the Zimmer administration on this issue. As a taxpayer and big fan of the Hoboken Waterfront I don't think that I am alone on this issue.

Photos - Sintra Park Field Closed
Here are some recent photos of the closed field and pier by Sinatra Park along the waterfront in Hoboken. One of the challenges of the Zimmer Administration will be to get as much grant money as possible for this remediation, select the best firm to fix the structural issues and appropriately bond for the rest from Hoboken's coffers. That is a tall order given that a HUMC failure could increase Hoboken's costs of borrowing substantially.
