I didn't have a problem so much when New York City banned trans fats from restaurants within the city limits. They are literally twisted polymers that are man made and clog arteries faster than a diet of buttered bacon. Over time I am sure this legislation will curb heart attacks since the body of medical evidence shows that this type of fat is not good for human consumption.
However, The new proposed tax on non-diet soft drinks in New York State might just cross the line. I understand the need to possibly curb human behavior to healthier eating, but take it from me a tax on non-diet drinks will not stop the obesity epidemic. Look I have been drinking diet soda for years and my belt size is the equator. I could hide an entire Ethiopian Village in my belly for heaven's sake. I admit that I am a glutton and that the only way for me to really lose weight is to spend more time in the Gym than on the John. Has the government gone too far? You be the judge. Time to get on that treadmill.
Question: Will the State of NJ be next?
