Friends, family and neighbors,
I hope you all had pleasant holidays and a happy new year with family and friends. It was nice the way the holidays fell which made for easy commuting for those that worked, and nice long weekends for those able to take time off. I did a little of both and it was great. I have lots to share, but first I want to remind everyone of our next Job Search Boot Camp.
Correction! First, I would like to clarify next week's JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP event. It's TUESDAY January 13th, not Wednesday.
Next Tuesday, January 13th, from 7 - 9pm at Steven's Institute of Technology (see specifics below and attached), the Chazin Group, sponsored by the Hoboken City Council, will host the SECOND event aimed at protecting your career, finding a new job, or making a career change. Our first program in December was excellent. If you fall into any of these categories, you owe it to yourself to attend. And even if you don't, there's much to learn to help you prepare for the "what if" as anything is possible with this crazy economy.
Times are really tough as financial firms continue to layoff, and other sectors are now being impacted. We are very fortunate to have a local resident expert Ethan Chazin of the Chazin Group, principal of the firm and executive recruiter/career coach for many years in the private sector, conduct these very worth while events. I know there's much to be learned from him in these very tumultuous times.
The nominal cost to attend these session is $25 per person with 40% of the proceeds directed to the charity of each participating Council person's choice. Those charities are the Hoboken Homeless Shelter and the Jubilee Center.
The location is at Steven's, Howe Center, Skyline Suite #4 from 7 - 9. Registrations are taken by Ethan by calling or emailing him and will also be taken at the door. Any questions, please let me know and thanks in advance for your interest. Attached, please find our flier with additional details of the event and how to contact Ethan.
I would again like to thank Ethan for his generous offer to host these events, Steven Institute of Technology for providing the location and equipment and my fellow council members for their sponsorship.
Thanks and Stay tuned for more...
Peter
