Email from Ravi Bhalla City Council Candidate
I received an email note from Ravi Bhalla who is running for City Council today. Here is the email verbatim:
Dear Friends,
As many of you now know, I am running as a candidate for Hoboken City Council this coming May! I am excited to embark on this journey to make our great city even better.
As a Council Member, my top priority will be to advocate for lower property taxes, reduced spending, and a balanced and fiscally responsible budget. We are paying the price in real dollars for the failures of our elected officials. We as a community must demand that reducing the tax burden remain a top priority during the next four years.
With your support, I also hope to institutionalize permanent changes in the operations of our local government that promote transparency, accountability, and civic engagement. Once fundamental reform in these areas is embedded in our government, they will outlast the tenure on any one elected official and I expect that Hoboken residents will demand nothing less.
I hope you join me on this journey. When we speak as a collective voice, when we demand a permanent culture of transparency and accountability, nothing can stop us.
Now let's go out there and win this election.
Sincerely,
Ravi
