Two candidates who had filed just this week for the upcoming BOE election, after a two day extension was granted due to snow, have formally dropped out of the race already according to a very good source of mine. They are Barbara Martinez (HOLA supporter) and Theresa Burns (Former BOE member).The deadline for withdrawing without a court order is 5 PM Wednesday March 11, 2009.
Thus, there are now a total of seven candidates with Kids First formally declaring a full slate and four others yet to announce who will be on the other slate of three. The possibility that the other four candidates make independent runs is a scenario that is very unlikely so it is possible one of these candidates could still drop out before Wednesday to make the BOE election 3 on 3.
