Elks Comedy Night - March 6 Recap

Tonight on March 6th, the Elks Club is holding a Comedy Night to benefit the Lucas Reling Cancer Fund. The entry fee is $25 for this good cause and includes a buffet dinner that starts at 8PM and a show at 9PM with many funny comics. Reservations are recommended. Call (201) 656-9602.

The Elks Comedy night was very well attended by a diverse selection of Hobokenites from all walks of life. I thought the comedians were very funny. I became an unintended pratfall when my chair gave way in the last third of my friend Vito Lantz's performance. Check it out on his video.

Not to take anything away from the show, but I take it as a sign from god that I better get my ass on a treadmill or that won't be the only piece of furniture I'll be breaking. The thing about that is I now know if I fall in the woods that people will hear me, even if they are not there. The fall occured about 10:15 PM so if you felt a tremor in Hoboken, it was probably me. In my defense the chairs there were kind of flimsy but at 6'8" and 350 pounds plus (don't ask how much over, I don't even know) I am sure to test the tensile strength of most furniture objects.

Well enough about my fat ass, time for some video highlights of my friends from the Elysian Cafe. For more professionally done video of the event go to http://www.hoboken411.com/ for some of the other comedians and an overview of the show once the video is professionally processed. Keep in mind this is no-pc comedy and would be rated R if on TV.
