A community meeting is scheduled on Wednesday April 22nd for the Northwest Redevelopment area. This is being hosted to get ideas from the community as to best how to aproach this parcel of land. Here is the press release:
ZIMMER AND CUNNINGHAM TO HOST COMMUNITY VISION
AND BRAIN-STORMING SESSION FOR NORTHWEST NINETEEN BLOCK AREA SLATED FOR REDEVELOPMENT
WHAT: Community Vision session for the 19 block Northwest Area now slated for redevelopment, featuring one of the leading Green Architecture firms, SHoP Architects. The award winning firm’s notable projects include buildings for Google’s Main Campus, Garden Street Lofts here in Hoboken and a two mile waterfront park along New York's East River.
WHEN: Wednesday, April 22, 7:00-9:00 PM
WHERE: Elks Club, Downstairs, 1005 Washington St.
WHO: Hosted and organized by 4th Ward Councilwoman Dawn Zimmer, 5th Ward Councilman Peter Cunningham and concerned resident, Richard Pasquarelli. The session is open to all concerned Hoboken residents.
WHY: Development plans should begin with what the community wants, not what the developers want. This session is designed to begin to get community input assisted by experts who think outside the box and can give a sense of the possibilities.
