Additional SW Park Update
I've done some further research and apparently the property owner has not yet sought the necessary County approvals. As part of the application, he will be required to go through a County Planning Board review process under which the public will have input. This means his site plan will be reviewed by the County Planning Board for traffic and drainage issues.
According to Stephen Marks, the County Planner, the fact that this property was identified as potential park land in Hoboken's Master Plan cannot be considered as a factor in the County's evaluation of the proposed use. Again, this situation makes it clearer than ever that we must move forward as quickly as possible on the proposed park before more of the identified land is lost to other uses. I will keep you apprised of any new developments.
