In just a few short weeks, Mayor Dawn Zimmer has begun to put Hoboken back on the right path. Here are just a few of a growing list of accomplishments:
- Established fiscal responsibility benchmarks to restore local control.
- Cut Mayor's and Directors' salaries by 10%.
- Won approval of the critical Southeastern Flood pump--step one in solving Hoboken's flooding problem.
- Instituted safeguards to limit political influence over zoning decisions.
- Made high quality appointments through an open application process.
- Restored cross-town bus service through a new more, cost-effective approach.
- Won halt to state legislation that would have allowed NJ Transit to go forward with their plan to build skyscrapers over the South Hoboken rail yards.
