For those of you who might not watch TV or pay too much attention to local businesses, Buddy Valestro the store's owner and chief baker is an accomplished master baker and cake decorator and star of the hit TLC reality show Cake Boss. Carlo’s Bakery has been featured in books, newspapers, such as, The New York Times, and television; most namely The Food Network. He and his cakes have also been featured on The Today’s Show, Good Morning America, The View, and HBO’s hit series, The Sopranos.
By uniting time-honored quality with modern innovative baking techniques, Carlo’s Bakery, a family business in operation since 1910, is very popular with both Hoboken residents and the many that visit it from out of town. Many times I have seen the line to the store extending the length of the block. My cousins from Upstate NY specifically came down to visit the Bake Shop. They perused bought pastries and T-shirts. What am I, chopped liver? Just kidding; I got to visit with them too.

Here is a photo of the cake that Carlo's bakery made for the Hoboken Mayoral Inauguration in November of 2009. I liked that the design featured mostly lower rise buildings in which to characterze Hoboken. Nice design!:
