Reader Mail - Appreciation of the Hoboken Journal -and Discussion of H411

Update: I moved this to the top of the stack given the continued discussion on another site in town. No amount of pimpery or pompous statements from anonymous posters about Hoboken 411 can deny that the quality of content and comments have gone downhill over the last several months. That includes people who know that have not even read about my site. This decline is irrespective of the total visits increase which I believe is a a result of a good search engine placement strategy and brand name recognition. Ultimately over time, quality of content and how the online commenters are treated will be the main drivers of the success of a blog or not.

Sure, "monkey pictures of candidates I hate because they don't give me paid ads" can get some traffic but in the long run what will make a website sucessful are exactly the things of what the proprietor of Hoboken 411 seems to be getting  away from. Incidently, I do agree with Glen Beck on one thing, gold ownership as a hedge against financial collapse of US currency is not such a bad thing. Too bad Glen is working for a gold company on the side. Did he disclose that to his viewers? What a Klaussen! I don't need to be a master in web marketing to arrive to these simple conclusions.

Orginal Post: Below is an email sent to me from an actual real person who has recently discovered my blog and likes what he sees in terms of blogging literacy. Unlike another another blog that recently tried to pat itself on its back, this reader actually has a real name unlike Princess Spendamillionus (supporter of Mason?) or such other fanciful or farsical name. Read on below and click on his website link if you have any interest in checking out his blog....

Hello from a fellow Blogger in Hoboken

Hello Kurt,

I just discovered your blog this evening after searching about Hoboken411. I was fed up with his rightward slant basically and his monkey photos of Dawn Zimmer and the fact that he wouldn't post my comment just put me over the edge. Seeing someone else who can write a literate blog without the anti-Zimmer trappings was like a breath of fresh air.

I have been writing a blog since October 2005, not as political as yours, more personal though I do add my two cents when something in the real world gets my attention. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself. I've added you to my blogroll and mentioned you in the last posting for December 8, 2009.

Keep up the good work!

All the best,

- John Ozed

John's inspirational Quote: "You say you'll change the Constitution, well...you know, we all want to change your Head

Incidently, John has an article also supporting gay marriage. It also talks about a canibus free dream he had an the heinous behavior of Perry Klaussen over at Hoboken 411.

John states in his article:

"Call one or all of these Senators now:

Christopher Bateman – (908) 526-3600
Jennifer Beck – (732) 933-1591
Sean Kean – (732) 974-0400
Thomas Kean, Jr. – (908) 232-3673
Fred Madden – (856) 232-6700
Nicholas Sacco – (201) 295-0200
Shirley Turner – (609) 530-3277

Call these Senators today and let them know you’re depending on them to put human rights above politics. Let them know that civil unions represent an outdated separate-but-equal mindset. Let them know that marriage should be an equal right for all.

This is a civil rights issue that transcends partisan lines, so every Senator needs to be called".
