QLC hosts Stormwater Management Seminar- Thursday November 11 at 6PM

The QLC and Committee for a Green Hoboken will be hosting the first session of a new program geared towards education and awareness of green building issues. This month’s topic will be stormwater management.



When: Thursday, November 11th, 2010, from 6pm to 7pm
Where: 124 Grand Street, Hoboken, NJ (The Multi-Service Center)
Panelists will include:

Bart Bakelaar – Owner, B. Bakelaar Landscaping: Bart will speak on the costs and benefits of landscaping, both ground level and rooftop (aka green roofs), with regards to stormwater management.

Tom Chartier – Owner of Chartier Redevelopment Group: Tom will speak on his experience with installing garden roofs at three high rise residential buildings in Battery Park City, as well as storm water collection in Hoboken and pervious “grass pavers” in Union City.

Steve Fahmie – Owner, Solevis: Steve will speak on his experience as a homeowner installing a garden roof with rain barrel and ground level landscaping in Hoboken, as well as his experience as a member of the Hoboken Shade Tree Commission.
