The Hoboken Homeless Shelter is having its annual silent auction fundraiser on December 7th from 7pm – 10pm at Teak. Admission is $25 and attendees will be able to purchase 1/2 priced drinks and munch on complimentary appetizers. Every year the Hoboken Homeless Shelter throws this mega event to raise money for the Homeless Shelter. If you are unfamiliar with a silent auction, it is where there is an item with a sheet of paper and you write your name and the price you want to pay for it, others can fill in their names and offer more so you will place your name again if you choose to and write in a higher bid. Once the night ends the winners are called out and you pay for your prizes. At last years event cash and checks were accepted.
The public is encouraged to come and support the Shelter. It takes on average just a little over a dollar to provide a hot meal to a homeless person, by attending you will feed 25.
