Update: Michael Shaffer sentenced to 18 Months in Medical Facility

Update 3:20PM: Update from Hoboken Patch is that Michael Schaffer, who was a "bagman" to former Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, was sentenced to 18 months in a federal medical facility and assessed a $4,000 fine, in U.S. District Court in Newark this afternoon.

Original Post 1/18/2010 3PM: Former North Hudson Sewarage Authority Board Member and "bagman" to Peter Cammarano is being sentenced today after he pled guilty to converting $25,000 in cash by a informant posing as a developer passed as part of a sting operation  into campaign contributions to Hoboken mayoral candidate Peter Cammarano.
He was part New Jersey's largest public corruption bust. Cammarano is already serving time.

Below  is some more background on one of Hoboken's notorious bagman, notorious since he is one of the few who has actually been caught.
