Hoboken Awarded $900,000 to Repar Waterfront Parks

From the City of Hoboken, more good news on the grant front to help us fix our crumbling waterfront parks.....

HOBOKEN AWARDED $900,000 TO REPAIR WATERFRONT PARKS

The City of Hoboken has been awarded a $900,000 Green Acres Matching Grant Award to repair Sinatra Field and Castle Point Park. Portions of the parks collapsed into the Hudson River in September, 2009.

“I am so thankful to the Green Acres Program for providing this grant so we can rebuild our badly-needed soccer field and reduce the cost to taxpayers,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “I recognize that open space is a very important issue to our community, and I have worked to move forward with repairs while seeking as much outside funding as possible to offset this immense cost.”

An update on the waterfront will be provided this week. ◦
