Dear Friends,Moments ago, I went to the polls and cast my vote for Dawn Zimmer for Hoboken Mayor. I urge you to do the same today before the polls close at 8 pm
We embarked on this journey last winter, and almost one year later, my conviction stands greater than ever that Dawn Zimmer is the right leader at the right time for Hoboken.
I stand by Dawn Zimmer because she is someone I can trust. She stands firm in her convictions and has the courage to speak truth to power when it matters most. Both as a Council Member and in her short time as Acting Mayor, Dawn Zimmer has shown not only principled leadership, but the will and determination to follow through on her ideals.
I stand by Dawn Zimmer because she cares more about people than power. One of the first laws she signed as Acting Mayor is a measure that took the power to appoint zoning board members away from her as Mayor and conferred it to the more representative and less corruptible legislative branch. Upon taking office, she also reduced her own salary and those of her directors, to send a message that we must lead by example in reducing the size of the budget. Dawn Zimmer has proven that she places the community's interests ahead of her own.
I stand by Dawn Zimmer because she is the only candidate that will bring Hoboken the stability it so desperately needs. Hoboken has been through a turbulent year. We need to turn the page and focus on the issues that matter most to our community - property taxes, development, public safety, parking and others. Dawn Zimmer has already begun the process of moving forward and restoring our trust in government.
We are just hours away from a clean break from the past and a brighter future for our great city. Please join me in making that vision a reality by casting your vote for Dawn Zimmer for Mayor.
