Phil Cohen on Elections Today

Below is an email sent out today from Phil Cohen on today's electoral choices:

We Hobokenites have been subjected to far more than our fair share of elections.

However, today's election is extremely important. Today we decide who will lead Hoboken for the next four years.

Elections matter. Because of our votes, a "Kids First" team of candidates took over the majority of Hoboken's Board of Education.

Because we came out strong in May and June, Dave Mello, Carol Marsh and Ravi Bhalla joined Peter Cunningham and Dawn Zimmer on the City Council to consolidate reform candidates' control of the City Council.

Today, we can complete our break from past, failed, administrations and keep Dawn Zimmer in the Mayor's office, working for us.

If you had told me just a few years ago that really good people could control our Board of Education, our City Council, and our Mayor's office, I would have told you to wake up and stop dreaming. Well, if we all vote today, we can make that dream a reality!

** Please Vote for Dawn Zimmer for Mayor **

** Please Vote "Yes" on Question 1, to support historic preservation in New Jersey **

And please support our Hoboken neighbor, Jon Corzine, who is in the fight of his life against Chris Christie, George W. Bush's appointee for New Jersey's US Attorney. On Sunday, Barack Obama asked us to support Jon Corzine, as we supported him last November. Yes we can!! Let's re-elect Jon Corzine Governor.

Thanks,

-Phil Cohen

P.S. My Letter to the Editor explaining my support for Dawn Zimmer is linked below:

Note: Phil Cohen was on the Peter Cammarano transition team and supported Beth Mason in the Hoboken Mayoral Race in May 2009. Phil Supported Dawn in the June runoff and supports her again in this special election. Phil in my opinion is smart and has shown a willingness to work with various camps to move Hoboken forward, hence his endorsements have value with me. ◦
