Water Main Break On Willow Ave

Here is the latest in infrastructure issues for Hoboken. Kudos the Administration for the prompt communication but it begs the question, what can United Water do to be more proactive than reactive? Maybe just maybe some water mains should be replaced instead of patched. What is United Water doing for Hoboken besides just reacting?Just for discussion.....

Water Main Break On Willow Ave

United Water emergency crews have responded to a water main break on 16th and Willow in Hoboken. Crews are investigating the break and formulating a repair plan. Customers in the area may have low water pressure or discolored water. While it meets drinking water standards, customers may prefer to wait before using it for drinking or doing laundry.

United Water is bringing in off-duty officers from the City of Hoboken and the Hudson County Sheriff’s office to help direct traffic between Weehawken and Hoboken as needed until the work is completed.

Willow Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets and 16th Street between Willow and Park Ave are closed to traffic. A number of large mains converge into the intersection, and United Water crews are working to isolate the problem and shut down the water. Once water is shut down, crews will pump out the water before beginning repairs.

Updates will be posted as they become available on the City website, http://www.hobokennj.org
