“Jersey City Job Fever” to Be Held February 4th

There are FREE workshops at the Hudson County Jaycees Jersey City and Job Fever Career Fair this Friday:

The Hudson County chapter of the Jaycees is announcing a variety of workshops, services and booths for job seekers at “Jersey City Job Fever”, a career fair to be held from 10am to 2:30pm on Friday, February 4, 2011 at New Jersey City University in partnership with the state’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development, New Jersey City University’s Small Business Development Center, and Hudson County One-Stop Career Center.

The NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development is offering attendees the opportunity to attend workshops on the following topics: résumé writing, interview skills suitable for today’s climate, and the “inside scoop” on government sector employment.

The organizations hosting career initiatives include: Suits for Success, Inc./Dress for Success Hudson County, the Employment Pathways Initiative, the Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Corporation, the Hudson County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program.

“This is the second Career Fair held by the Hudson County Jaycees. The event is certain to be a big job-creator in Hudson County which has a snowball effect on the local economy. It is exhilarating to see how much impact a group of like-minded volunteers can have." said charter member and Assemblyman Ruben Ramos Jr.

“All of employers have been pre-qualified and all positions available offer a salary or hourly wage. This experience has brought out the best in people and has truly united the community. The Jaycees will continue to provide this level of value to the Hudson County community,” said Hudson County Jaycees Founding Chapter President Zach Edelman. At this writing, there are 35 companies participating in the Fair.

COMPANY REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN AND IT IS FREE. Companies with salaried or hourly-wage positions open or opening are encouraged to register now.
