Kid's First Campaign Kickoff Summary for 3-13-2011

Kid's First had their 2011 Campaign kickoff for the upcoming Hoboken Board of Education Race on April 27, 2011 at the Turtle Club at 10th and Park, the former site of The Goldhawk Bar. The candidates that are on this slate are Jean Marie Mitchell, the one year incumbent, Steven Feinstein and Clifford Godfrey. The turnout was was very good with between 90-100 people total with a diversified crowd. The candidates were introduced by Theresa Minutillo and followed by Ruth McAllister who are also on the Kid's First team. Theresa spoke of the progress that has been made and noted the key hire of Dr. Mark Toback which should help set the course for even more improvements to come. She emphasized the changes are for the kids in the district and hence the team name Kids First. The candidates then went over their reasons for running and the crowd pretty much stayed there until 4:00PM. Ruth McAllister concluded her remarks by urging people to donate time and money to get the word out about the slate. The event ran from 2pm-5pm.
