Thank you from Dawn Zimmer

Here is a thank email you from Dawn Zimmer that was sent to me last night on her making the runoff:

Dear Friends, The entire Zimmer team is in the June 9th runoff election! Thank you so much for all that you have done to bring Hoboken one step closer to making the change that our town needs. Residents young and old have come together from all parts of Hoboken to support our goals of lower taxes, smart development, and a clean break from the failed policies of the Roberts administration. We overcame incredible odds (and opponent funding) to be well positioned to win on June 9th. Evidence of our grass roots strength was everywhere on election day, from Barbara Bravo walking all over town with her dog Milo, who was in his own Zimmer T-Shirt, to Liz Mulholland trekking everywhere with her daughter, to the Phillips family out campaigning together until the polls closed.

This is what grassroots democracy looks like! Please send us your election day photos for the gallery. Help document history in the making!

We need your help and the help of your friends to finish the job. On May 12, the "machine" came out in force to support Peter Cammarano, and they will do everything they can to stop us from taking back our city. But by pulling together, we can and will prevail on June 9th.

Next steps:

I am reaching out to Councilwoman Mason, Tom Vincent, Frank Orsini and Ryn Melberg to ask for their support. All four have made important contributions to the public dialogue, and I am hoping that they will join with us in moving Hoboken forward.

Register your friends to vote:
One of the many surprising things on Tuesday was the number of people still not registered. This election will be a choice between four more years of trick budgeting, higher taxes, and over-sized development plans or a new direction for all Hoboken. No one can afford to sit on the sidelines.

Voter Registration Drive this Weekend: Wear your shirt, grab a clipboard, and help Get Out the Vote for a couple hours. As we saw on Tuesday, even a few hours makes a huge difference. Saturday 10 am - 6 pm Sunday 12 pm - 6 pm

The deadline to register for the run-off is Tuesday. Please download a voter registration form here, and get 5 of your friends registered and involved.

Save the Date:
Fundraiser for the Zimmer Team Thursday May 21 at Helen Hirsch's house. More details to follow.

As we have shown, our campaign will do more with less, but we need the resources to get the job done. For those who can, please don't wait for the fundraiser -- contribute online at https://secure.blueutopia.com/dawnzimmer/contribute/ or write a check to "Hoboken Change that Works" and drop it off at our headquarters -- 618 Washington Street.

Thanks for your continued support,

Dawn Zimmer
