The Hoboken Journal and MSV Announce “Operation Bounty”

The Hoboken Journal and MSV Announce “Operation Bounty”
Initiative to Stop Absentee Ballot Fraud

Concern has been elevated on the topic of election fraud and it is raising its serpentine head in the upcoming November 2nd special election for the 4th Ward city council seat. To combat this practice, The Hoboken Journal in conjunction with Mile Square View (MSV) is launching "Operation Bounty," a plan to take absentee ballot fraud head on with a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individual disenfranchising the vote using absentee ballots in the Hoboken special election.

“Operation Bounty” is not partisan and is not affiliated with any campaign, political group or organization.*

The Hoboken Journal and Mile Square View are hopeful for a clean election in November with no malfeasance or electoral skulduggery. In past Hoboken elections, there have been misgivings over the validity of absentee balloting practices and both MSV and the Hoboken Journal extend this reward to discourage any untoward activity that disenfranchises voters. Both the Hoboken Journal and MSV stand together in their pledge to condemn illegal and illicit absentee voting practices by ironically putting our money where our mouth is.

Regardless of which campaign is responsible for any untoward activity, both the Hoboken Journal and the Mile Square View will honor a commitment to reimburse the person responsible for reporting the incident. The reward is payable for the first tip leading to an arrest and conviction.

An example of this concern was picked up in another website below:

PolitickerNJ reporter Timothy J. Carroll has posted multiple stories on the issue of absentee ballot fraud and it's not even October. He quoted a resident familiar with the practice:

“I think you’re not going to see 600 absentee ballots in the 4th Ward, or else somebody’s going to jail,” said another veteran of Hoboken elections."

The Hoboken Journal and the Mile Square View wish to thank all concerned Hoboken residents for their consideration and welcome your support. We encourage our readers to spread the word throughout the 4th Ward that the citizens of Hoboken demand fair elections and do not subscribe to the notion of “winning at all costs”.

*Operation Bounty is paid for by friends of the Hoboken Journal and Mile Square View. If you wish to make a pledge to support the goal, email kurt.gardiner@gmail.com or smartyjones@me.com. The $1,000 reward will be increased if sufficient pledges become available. Any difference not covered by fundraising will be underwritten equally by both the Hoboken Journal and Mile Square View.

Below is the release in pdf form for your viewing and printing convenience:

Wow....I guess this will stop Mr. Lenz from driving his campaign workings to the county to vote in front of him.
Riiiiight, b/c the county totally is a polling place...of wait, its not.

I wonder what Tims team is thinking right now. Alot of those people they are paying for votes would rather have $1000 than the $50 they are getting paid...

Damn, now that I think about it, I could use 1000 too, how much is a hidden camera? and where is the russo social club, or Benny loves?
Operation "Bounty", as in the roll of paper towels which mysteriously got jammed under the brake pedal in Ben Love's Bentley just before it happened to roll into the water in Jersey City? Yes, everyone who drives a Bentley keeps paper towels near the driver's seat, in case, you know, they dribble some of their Grey Pupon on one of the finely crafted floormat which, by the way, happened to lodge itself on top of the accelerator. Good thing he had insurance on it! No, wait, something about not getting paid because of insurance fraud... seems to fit in well with a particular candidate's circle.

Any effort to keep elections clean is good. Keep up the good work.

Great initiative. This issue needs to stay front center. The causal attitude of Belfiore (among others) towards absentee ballots as expressed in the Carroll article (see quotations below) are shocking for their blatant disregard for the sanctity of the private ballot in a democracy. Does Belfiore expect to be retain an ounce of his already strained credibility with his comments about helping people "navigate" the ballot because of all the "noise"? It's no wonder Occhipinti's team can't sign the Clean Campaign Pledge.

"Supporter Perry Belfiore said confusing ballots, especially in November specials, sometimes necessitate absentee ballots more than other times. “There’s a lot of noise on the ballot,” Belfiore said, and older people and language-barrier residents many times need help navigating."

The older I get the more I lean towards the crazy notion that if you can't figure out how to press the right button for a candidate, you lack the common sense and intelligence to make a rational decision on whom to vote for in the first place.
It is the enabling of people like Perry that let crooks like Russo & Cammarano get elected to begin with. As far as I am concerned the man has no credibility and neither does his plan B candidate so long as they plan on running a dirty campaign and so long as they remain silent on the issue of vote buying.
This whole thing is a sham! This is a Lenz front!

Boink don't talk about yourself like that. You need to rebuild your confidence and be productive. Don't get too upset, they won't be looking for you guys hiding out in Weehawken. We'll send your street money over there.
The sham is on you Zimmerist! You can't even spell our exhalted Mayor in exhile's name. Its Beth Mason. B-E-T-H M-A-S-O-N, get it. Go back to school and someday you can live the good life like me with a vacation home in Florida.
First off, learn to spell. Her name is spelled B-E-T-H M-A-S-O-N. Go back to school and perhaps someday you can be comfortable like me with my Florida vacation pad. Beth Mason's motives are pure and I will not have you mocking my exalted Mayor in exile. Get a clue and stop drinking those Zimmertinis.
For the next month there should be "Operation Be Quiet" All hoboken blogs, sites, message boards, etc go on a hiatus. Go to the gym or out with friends but do not post anything online about Hoboken be it good or bad. Do not write about anything political, religious, town worthy, personal feelings and so on.

All these Hoboken sites are allowing people to smear the town in their own words however at the same time it is just bad press no matter how you angle it. Apartments are vacant, stores are closing up, people are losing their jobs and if you keep smearing our town we will soon be the next Camden. Help the problem by shutting up for once.

I'd like to officially lead your campaign but under a new banner, "Operation Surrender." All Hoboken blogs should be silenced, willingly or not and there should be no voices speaking the truth at all.

Then we can have a nice quiet election next month with all the good surely to follow.

Stop smearing the truth with political operative propaganda. And while you are it, please go boink yourself.
Sounds more like "operation stop reporting on anything so TIMMY can steal the election"

Yes, Hoboken is only 1 or 2 posts away from being 'the next Camden'. You got here just in time.
Ok, Stalin, nice try.
Guest - You can't shut people like me up. I'm a beast master of the oratory, my venom knows no boundaries. It is a Zimmerist conspiracy and I must be allowed my five minutes to let all of Hoboken no how upset I am that Beth isn't Mayor.
Is this retroactive to the 2007 4th ward race? Many players in both the Zimmer and the Campos camps broke the law. Do you have the funds to write enough checks?
