Breakup Cookbook - It's a Blog about Breakups and Food

Here is another local area blog that talks about food and breaking up from a woman's point of view:

 It's  Breakupcookbook.com to the Rescue

Relationship surveys, from Yahoo Personals to one just-released by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, show that January ranks #1 as the month when those dreaded words, "We have to talk" are most likely to be heard.

Fortunately, for the women on the receiving end of that sentence, there's a brand new blog, http://www.breakupcookbook.com/, that's as indispensable to the grieving process as a box of tissues. It stars terrific recipes that stand the test of time ... and heartache.

Breakup Cookbook blogger Heather Quinlan says, "I hope the site will help women work their way through the process--armed with a spatula and garlic press." Fellow blogger Cate Wells agrees: "Give us your single, your hungry, your cold . . . because nothing warms a broken heart like home cooking. With our tasty and simple recipes, you'll learn to use your kitchen skills to charm your friends and future lovers."

Dedicated to the notion of "catharsis through cooking," regular visitors will be treated to:
  • Gourmet-sounding recipes that are easy to make, including Ahi Seared tuna with Wasabi Potatoes; Risotto; Japanese Chicken Fingers.
  • Boy Thyme--Videos of cute guys cooking meals that will give women hope that there are still men out there who have something great to show for turning on the heat.
  • Confessional--Confessions from fans offering first-person accounts of their best-and worst-breakup stories.
  • Comfort Food--Can you say "Mac 'n' Cheese"?
  • And relationship advice from those who have been there, done that and baked the cake.
Heather Quinlan created the Breakup Cookbook after she was shockingly dumped one cold and lousy winter. Since then, she's become an expert on lasagna, roast chicken and her signature mac 'n' cheese. In between cooking up a storm, Heather is also producing and directing a documentary on the New York accent called "If  These Knishes Could Talk." She's lived in all five boroughs of NYC, and now calls Brooklyn home.

Cate Wells has always loved to eat but didn't discover her love of cooking until her first real job-helping to compile cookbooks for Hearst magazines. She has reviewed New York City restaurants, written a guidebook to camping, and now works as a travel editor. When she's not making a meal in a boat galley or over a campfire somewhere far far away, she does most of her cooking in Hoboken, NJ. All of her breakups have been for the best. ◦
