HOBOKEN, February 1, 2010 – Mayor Dawn Zimmer thanked City Council President Peter Cunningham, along with the other members of the City Council, City department directors, the Police and Fire Chiefs, as well as State Fiscal Monitor Judy Tripodi for their participation in the day-long budget workshop that took place this past Saturday, January 30th at City Hall.
“The workshop was vitally important to the City of Hoboken in providing transparency to the budget process,” Mayor Zimmer said. “My Administration looks forward to continuing to work with the Council to adopt a budget that is fiscally responsible in a timely manner.”
City Council President Cunningham began the Budget Workshop by reading a statement from Mayor Zimmer. Unfortunately, due to technical problems, the Mayor’s remarks were not heard by people watching the Budget Workshop live streaming on the Internet. Fortunately, the problem was quickly rectified after the Mayor’s comments were read and the balance of the coverage of the Budget Hearing was unaffected.
The Mayor has provided a transcript of her statement in conjunction with this release.
