City Announces Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training Schedule

This is from the City Hall's Website. Training for the CERT team for community emergency response will be conducted as shown below:


The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management has scheduled a CERT Team training program which will be held each Monday night, starting February 22nd thru April 12th at the ground floor conference room inside the Newark Street side of City Hall.




The training schedule is as follows:

February 22nd – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
March 1st – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
March 8th – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
March 15th – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
March 22nd – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
March 29th – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
April 5th – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
April 12th – 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Final emergency simulation exercise (to be announced)

Participants must attend every module of training as well as participate in the final emergency simulation exercise in order to receive certification as a fully trained CERT Team member.

The training will consist of:

  • Disaster Preparedness
  • Disaster Fire Safety/ Suppression
  • Disaster Medical Operations I
  • Disaster Medical Operations II
  • Light Search & Rescue Operations
  • Psychology & Team Org.
  • Terrorism Awareness
  • Final Exercise
Upon completion of the training, each participant will be issued a CERT Member Emergency Kit to maintain for future deployments.
