October 3rd is a Sunday.
Oh boy, I hope there is a sausage and peppers cart & bbq'd corn on the cob. ;)

In all seriousness, I really wish they'd consider moving this festival to one of the piers (less congestion).

Congestion is one thing, but as well it would just be nicer to be on grass with river and Manhattan views and not be in the middle of a city street and all that goes with it. Let's consider since restaurant garbage is leaking on these streets nightly and there is quite a shortage of seating, it's not the most pleasant place to sit on a curb and enjoy a bite or take in the event in toto: a grassy pier would be a preferable alternative. Such would also do wonders for the traffic snafus that are part and parcel of these street fairs.
Who knows, people might actually utilize that gravel and stone bench area on Pier A. I comprehend it is supposed to be a solemn place but moreover it is just uninviting and an underutilized downer. As it stands not the best possible tribute is it?
You make an excellent point about the views and gravel pit too. I really think that it would be fantastic to get all the fairs/festivals off of Washington Street. There's an Italian fest that is up by the water, on Sinatra, in the early fall that is a lot of fun and not nearly the traffic headache that the fests on Washington are. In addition, the views of NYC are unobstructed and the beer area was huge! I really enjoyed that fest last year.
Art and music concerts are always my favorite topics and i always want to participate in these events. This is a great opportunity to participate in these events and become successful.
