Hoboken Fire Rescue Boat- Photos

For those of you who may not know, the Hoboken Fire Department has a boat as part of the services they provide. Here is a rare glimpse of this boat in action down by Pier A Park.

This Rescue Boat has the following specs from the Hoboken Fire Department's Website:

  • The website lists 1 125 HP Engine but it is actually a 200 HP Yamaha engine.
  • The website lists a 19ft. rescue boat but this boat is more like 24 ft.
  • 6 Life Vests.
  • 6 Dry Suits.
  • On duty 24 hours a day.
  • First in Hudson County.
  • Can Respond to calls in as little as 12 minutes.

And it is available for fishing expeditions in the Hudson if you'd like some nice PCB ladden striped bass.

So what were they doing? Looks like they rescued someone's soccer ball.
Yes. I saw hem retrieve a soccer ball. That is an act of kindness not their primary role. If a big boat had some issues or a fire I am not sure this smaller rescue craft is up to the task but it could be good for a recreational boat rescue.
