Water Main Break on 7th Street

WATER MAIN BREAK ON 7TH STREET

A 12 inch water main broke around 3 am this morning on 7th Street between Clinton Street and Grand Street. United Water repair crews are on the scene making repairs. Water is safe to drink, and there are no disruptions to the water supply.

Cars parked along 7th Street needed to be moved in order for crews to begin repairs. Residents with parking permits were called early in the morning and asked to move their vehicles. Vehicles that were not moved were towed. Residents should visit the Police station for a tow release. There will be no charge to release towed vehicles. Hertz Connect vehicles parked on the street will be temporarily relocated to the adjacent A&P parking lot.

“I want to thank the Hoboken Police, Environmental Services, the Office of Emergency Management, and United Water for their quick response to the situation,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer.

Until repairs are completed, 7th Street between Clinton Street and Grand Street will remain closed to traffic. For updates, visit the City website at http://hobokennj.org/
