Here are some stories from around New Jersey today of other entities tightening their belts around the the Garden State. Stories such as these naturally beg the question: why is it so tough in Hoboken politically to make spending cuts, even in such economically difficult times? I have an answer that is quite simple: Not enough taxpayers vote, period. Will this change in 2009 after many tax payers have gotten the sticker shock? Stay tuned or better yet tell five friends to vote and make sure they know about two important dates: April 21 for the School Board and May 12th for the City Council and Mayor races.
Newark school district plans school closures, job cuts
