Municipal Budget
I have created a discussion thread for the City's Municipal Budget - Feel free to chime in on issues pertaining to this topic. Here are some questions statements to get the discussion flowing:
- What should the total municipal budget be?
- Actually, isn't the question above incorrect and instead the City should be doing bottom up budgeting, looking at what we really need to provide services and then determining the budget?
- Do PILOTS help or hurt the municipal budget the way they have been implemented?
- Is City Hall efficient in terms of its organization and types of positions?
- How can the City raise other revenues besides property taxes?
- Do the Fire and Police need to share in efforts towards cost cutting?
- If so to question above, should layoffs of Public Safety employees, while regrettable, be on the table?
