Why I Support Dawn Zimmer For Mayor - by Scott Siegel
After much soul searching I finally came to the conclusion that there is only one person who can unite Hoboken and lead us out of the current morass. Dawn has stayed true to her beliefs and has not pandered to any group as other politicians do. When it comes to frankly discussing the troubled state of Hoboken University Medical Center it is Dawn who speaks out loudly.
When a recent vote came up regarding affordable housing in Church Towers, Dawn was the only Mayoral candidate to insist on protecting needy residents, while having those who can pay more, pay their fair share. Dawn has similarly taken the lead by organizing community workshops on the responsible development that Hoboken needs. Like me, Dawn is a true fiscal conservative. Her green agenda is far reaching and innovative. Dawn is also taking charge in trying to solve the persistent flooding that occurs in back end of town.
If you saw the recent debate it was Dawn who spoke from her heart with little need for cue cards. She knows the issues that are important to each of us. Along with Chris Carbine, Dawn’s was the only other slate to support the victorious Kids First trio in the recent BOE election.
That’s why on May 12th I will cast my vote for our next Mayor, Dawn Zimmer. I hope for Hoboken’s sake you do too.
