Here is an update on mail in or absentee ballots from a good source of mine:
These are the absentee #’s (mail-in's) per Michael Harper. This brings the percentages to Zimmer 42%, Mason 22.7%, Raia 19.9%, Glatt 10.3%
Raia - 395
Zimmer - 343
Mason - 258
Glatt - 96
The County website still shows a missing district so we’re still missing some #’s from the final count –but its probably a supplemental machine without many votes on it. Michael Harper said he didn’t know what the story was on this – speculated that somehow they missed a cartridge – something that happened last time too.
Paul Swibinsky (Mason campaign) is quoted in Hoboken Now as saying Beth finished a strong second, well in front of the other candidates. She beat Frank Raia by less than 3% (about 350 votes), not exactly “well in front.” But after the way that campaign was conducted, why let the truth get in the way now?
My Note: Dawn Zimmer did surprisingly well in these given the disparity of the last election.
