Last night after about 2 hours of much public support including residents near the possible Pino site and questions by the City Council minority the Municipal Garage Bond Ordinance was passed. Both Mike Russo and Terry Castellano initially said they were voting no but Beth Mason crossed the line and voted yes "under protest". This is significant since it gives the City a contingency if the sale does not go through on August 13th as planned. The vote was unanimous at 8-0.
Another key issue discussed was Pier C park and besides the the dealy due to the handrails there are liability concerns over some of the features of the Park that could be potentially dangerous for children.
