"Hoboken Fall Music and Arts Festival a Success"
Last year around this time all of us vendors were sort of nervous, a forecast of rain was expected. And sure enough come noon-3pm there was some rain, not much but enough to keep the passersby off Washington St for a few hours. This past spring Festival also had rain on the radar and sure enough some minor drizzling started off the festival but went away 90 minutes later. This year was a dandy and the weather was just perfect for a fall festival.
Clear skies with a few mile high clouds was all we saw in the air. Washington St from Observer to 7th Street lined with anxious vendors ready to make some sales and happy customers ready to make some purchases. So many interesting items were made available for sale today. Soy candles and specialty soaps caught my eye. Lots of handmade clothing was on hand and artists everywhere were displaying their proud masterpieces. Many local Hoboken business owners (self included) were out promoting our businesses. The crowd was a great mix of young and old both local and abroad.
Kids in strollers, dogs on leashes, couples and married folks hand in hand, what a day it was. Popped kettle corn on 5th St sent an aroma through the streets. Roasted corn crackling over the grill, sausages
firing up in the trucks, yum yum on all of our minds. The mascots were out and about. Dunkin Donuts coffee man giving high fives and the Cluck U Chicken dancing all over the place, what a day it was in Hoboken today.
A little wind gust here and there had napkins, flyers and literature flying through the air however with our recent bout of high temps, these gusts just felt so good to the skin. Hometown America was all over Hoboken today.
I would like to thank Geri Fallo personally, and I am sure I speak on behalf of many others that are grateful for her hard work making today a very special day. Geri and her team of workers and volunteers made
sure that up until today and for all of today, we would have the best festival ever and with the help of mother natures cooperation, and we did, thanks Geri!
