Hot Time, Cool Feet-- 30 People Participate in Hoboken's First-Ever FireWalk Event

Hot Time, Cool Feet-- 30 People Participate in Hoboken's
First-Ever FireWalk Event

Hoboken's first ever FireWalk Seminar on Saturday May 30th was attended by 30 people, some traveling over 250 miles to attend. The evening's theme was "Facing Your FEARs". Participants, 2 of them 11 years old and two grandmothers, had the opportunity to do just that by learning to walk over broken glass, by breaking boards with their bare hands, and by walking over a bed of red hot coals barefoot. This enthusiastic group amazed each other as each new challenge was met with near 100% participation. No injuries were reported, and a great time was had by all.

Julia Jade Levine, 11, and daughter of facilitator, walks on broken glass for the 1st time

The group prepares the fire with lots of paper

The fire quickly blazes

An arrow is about to be broken by Gina's neck

The fire, no flash, reveals the red hot coals

My Comment: Thanks to Larry for sending me this recap. It is always fun to sprinkle in a little human interest story to take a break from fanning the flames of the Hoboken political scene. Pun intended! :)
