Hoboken Journal Poll of The Week - Should one person sit on more than one Board?

Based on the controversy generated by certain appointments for Municipal Boards a the last city council meeting and the issue raised when Tony Soares was appointed to a second Board position (when one wasn't apparently enough to keep him appeased) here is this week's Hoboken Journal Poll of the week:

RG: A push poll? Shame on you....What about the option: It doesn't matter enough in the grand scheme of things to have an opinion either way?
There are inherent confilcts of interest for anyone to serve in multiple capacities, especially in the case of boards or commissions and city council as when a decision rendered by a board or commission is appealed to the council by an unhappy applicant. It's bad government and that this is not obvious to any elected or appointed official speaks to a much larger problem.

That dual roles are allowed under New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law may be permited,
and I don't think they are in every case, does not mean that we, as a municipality, can't do better. Our moral compass has been broken for so long, is it any wonder that ethics have to be taught in law school?
Indiecom- I wish that I had thought of this poll well before the vote and that certain Council members had seen it and taken heed. You are right though in the grand scheme of things the main goals of the movement are more important than this issue. Equally important to me and the stance I am taking on my blog is my right to occasionally criticize those who I generally support and not be cajoled, yelled at or threatened with a lawsuit every time I disagree with someone on an issue.

You're right. You shouldn't be threatened with a lawsuit every time you disagree. If the person making the threats is who I think it is, he spends more time threatening lawsuits than most lawyers. Maybe he should have gone to law school.
Curious- Did you vote Indiecom?

no, I wanted to, but my post reflected my choice and it wasn't there. (by the way, I'm sure you know, I support your right to criticize) Since I didn't vote, can you share the numbers?
Currently 26 votes and 92% in favor of only one position. Web polls are not scientific.

What's the # breakdown here, RG?
i appreciate that someone is willing to volunteer for more than one, but i think it could potentially cause problems. he can help out in other ways by going to meetings and such.
