There is a rumor that has been circulating that Windmill Resturants (famous for their hot dogs) will be locating to this site. I called their office and was able to confirm that they have looked for a location in Hoboken and that one of the locations was no longer available. It is possible that the location no longer available is the 7-Eleven on the corner of 5th and Washington as depicted on their website

Could it be that 526 Washington is their second location of choice and that they have finally found their Hoboken home? I will update once I know more.

The Frozen Monkey Cafe on 526 Washington is "frozen for business" for now in a recent development. It is possible that this cafe has been sold as the place was on the market for quite some time. There is a sign that says closed for renovations. It is important to note though there is no work permit posted as of yet. It could be a while before patrons are seen monkeying around this cafe as many of us are all to familiar with the time needed to do renovations in this town.
It looks like it is possible that one business (Antique Bakery) might not have known about this sudden develepment. Click on the photo to enlarge and see the whole message.
