Update 2/19/2010:
I found it interesting that there was no mention of this great appointment on Hoboken 411. Hoboken 411 was a big supporter of the Mason campaign (narry even one negative piece) given the amount of money rolling in and Ann was a key aid in helping Beth Mason move forward her agenda. I just find it very odd that one of Beth Mason's key advisers getting a role would not even be mentioned by Perry Klaussen.
Of course, that totally blows major holes in his assertion that Zimmer was only hiring male campaign contributors published previously on his site. The last two key hires by Dawn Zimmer have been women and well qualified at that.
I just think it is a shame that Perry Klaussen, the self-professed "most complete website about Hoboken in the whole freaking universe" can't even bring himself to mention this very well deserved appointment. Again, here is wishing Ann very well in the process of improving the Zoning Office.
Here is a copy of Ann's resume and certification that I had not posted previously...
Original Post 2/18/2009:
Mayor Zimmer Announces New Zoning Officer
Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced today her appointment of Ann Holtzman as Zoning Officer, effective February 22nd. "Ann Holtzman will be an excellent addition to our City,” Mayor Zimmer said. “She has been passionate about Hoboken’s community development for many years, and is a strong voice in our community for balanced development and fair process.”
Ms. Holtzman has been involved in Hoboken’s development community for many years. She was integrally involved in Hoboken’s Master Plan preparation process, as well as having years of experience refurbishing and renovating buildings in town. Ms. Holtzman also has extensive management experience. She has pledged to focus on making the Zoning office not only user-friendly, but a public resource for information and guidance.
“I look forward to working with Ms. Holtzman to ensure the zoning office runs as smoothly as possible for the citizens of Hoboken,” Mayor Zimmer said. This new hire brings the Zoning office to full staffing to meet the needs of Hoboken. “We can now begin integrating all of our Community Development departments to work in better harmony together.”
My comment: Great pick. She has the appropriate certification and I trust Dawn Zimmer's judgement as well as Ann Holtzman to do a good job in this position based on her dedication to the issues of Hoboken.
