Mulligan's on First is the place to watch international sporting events in Hoboken. With the World Cup 2010 almost finishing up I was finally able to make it down to the pub and watch Germany beat Argentina 4-0 yesterday morning. I thought that game on paper should have been much closer but the German's executed their blitzkrieg style of counter attacks to perfection. I at several points got carried away with the magic of world cup soccer and could be heard yelling "Das Boot" every time Germany took a shot towards goal.

Having great grandparents named Hoffman, I naturally rooted for the only team I have left in the tournament, Germany. The crowd was about 75% for Germany and 25% pro Argentina including two of my friends but I had no beef (pun intended) with them about their support of the team they loved. With the result determined in the second half the spirit of the crowd was quite festive and excited without being boisterous. I would recommend Mulligan's for its atmosphere as well as its beer selection for International and other sporting events due to the fan engagement and knowledge base as well as the down home pub atmosphere. I have also been told that it is the meeting place for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan clubs in Hoboken.
