Hoboken Floods Again! No surprise here!

For those on who live on the West side of Hoboken either Southwest near the sky Club or Northwest near the Shoprite, you have probably experienced flooding in Hoboken before. Last night Hoboken had the perfect combination of high tides and heavy rains to once again flood certain areas in Hoboken yet again.

I am  is fairly certain that other areas were flooded as well last night, especially in the Southwest part of town. Several residents that have lived in Hoboken their whole life commented that it has always been bad in this area but lately seems to have become worse.

Below are photos taken from last night August 14, 2011 near the Hoboken High School and Columbus Park and the Shoprite in Hoboken…

Did someone either
  • Kill an alien?
  • Become a Toxic Avenger?
  • Leak antifreeze?
  • Spill plutonium?
  • Play a practical joke with some green dye?
The answer is none of the above. That is a green dye used by the Sewer Authority to track sewer flows. While it is "safe" the water is likely not due to the possibly high bacterial count due to the mixing of runoff with fecal matter within the sewers.

Hoboken's new public Pool? The one URSA Tarragon promised but never delivered.
And while we are at it, lets give a big round of applause to the boys over at the North Hudson Sewerage Authority. At least one sewer drain was working last night. Here is a video clip to use for your next aromatherapy session:

Puppie's slogan says "I love Hoboken". He'll want to change that "I love NJ's Venice, all the way to the bank".
I hope that there was no major loss because of this flood because many people have been facing problem because of this flood. It was really worried about this flood in this time.
