Last minute Look at City Garage before Deadline

I stopped by the City Garage at around 5:30 pm last night and there was work still to be done. I saw a mostly empty garage at that point and City employees actually working hard to help the City meet their deadline. I was able to briefly chat with one of the workers and he said they would have had things wrapped up by 10pm last night based on his assessment. He said he understood why the City of Hoboken had to move out and that it made sense to him. For any one who watched Wednesday's City Council meeting it did not appear to make sense to Councilman Mike Russo. Or was that just the theatrics of a a City Councilman who puts politics before the City's best interests? You be the judge.

It looks like the City should make their deadline and Lane Bajardi one of the people responsible as a co-conspirator for the stupid decision to sell the garage will now see an empty garage out his condo window for a while, free of flotsam and jetsam. Flotsam and jetsam is a term that Lane Bajardi threw out there at the last City Council meeting but those words are typically used relating to a maritime situation. It looks like a little back to school time might be in store for Mr. Bajardi for yet again using big words in an inappropriate context.

I also ran into Jennifer Maier on Washington Street who was getting pizza for the hardworking crew at Benny Tudinos and was on her way of bringing it back to them. The inspection of the garage which is open to the media is today.
